Muriel Janice Tucker

Muriel Janice Tucker, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 1, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Georgetown, Texas. Born on November 18, 1936, in Willmar, Minnesota, Muriel was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. The daughter of Leone and Franklin Bergund, Muriel was a spirited and vibrant soul from a young age. A proud graduate of Willmar High School’s class of 1954, she embarked on a life journey that was as rich in experience as it was in love and laughter. Muriel built a remarkable career, beginning as a secretary for Standard Oil in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her professional path also led her to serve as a secretary at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Decorah, Iowa, and later, as the manager of AAA World Travel, also in Decorah. She further showcased her entrepreneurial spirit as the co-owner of Hi Pro Foods in Decorah, Iowa. Throughout her varied career, Muriel's dedication and work ethic left an indelible mark on those she worked with. Her commitment to community and service was evident in her roles with the Girl Scouts of America and Iowa Red Cross. Muriel was also a cherished member of the Silvercrest and Oneota Golf and Country Clubs in Decorah, where her passion for golf was as notable as her love for the community. Muriel's life was a tapestry woven with adventure and exploration. An enthusiastic traveler, she delighted in discovering new places and cultures. Her love for ice skating, skiing, golfing, and sailing was matched only by her love for her family and friends. Muriel was predeceased by her devoted husband, Eldon F. Tucker, and former husband, Peter B. Lloyd. Her legacy continues through her loving family: her brother Douglas Berglund and his wife Ann of Summerlin, Nevada; her daughters Michelle Mullins and Robert Mosley of Georgetown, Texas, and Stacey Anderson and Craig of Garrison, Minnesota; her grandson Avery Brandt of Blaine, Minnesota; and her nephew David Berglund and his wife Kelly of Elk River, Minnesota. Known for her joyous and outgoing personality, Muriel's warm smile and infectious laughter brightened every room she entered. Her presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. In keeping with Muriel's wishes, there will be no funeral service in her hometown of Decorah, Iowa. The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Muriel's spirit of generosity and care. Muriel Janice Tucker has left an enduring mark on the world, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Her life was a testament to the power of joy, love, and kindness.
