MRS. PAULINE DIGIOVANNI

June 22, 1923 — September 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Pauline DiGiovanni, who left this world on September 27, 2026, at the age of 103. Born on June 22, 1923, in Jessup, Pennsylvania, Pauline was a beacon of strength, resilience, and boundless love. Pauline's journey was marked by her remarkable ability to overcome life's many challenges with grace and determination. In 1969, she and her beloved husband moved into Building #1, Apartment 13J, during a cold, snowy January, with their five young sons. Tragically, just a year later, Pauline faced the sudden loss of her husband to a heart attack. Despite the immense sorrow and daunting task ahead, Pauline exemplified courage and tenacity as she embarked on the journey of raising her sons single-handedly. At the age of 47, she learned to drive and entered the workforce, ensuring her family was provided for, all while navigating her own grief. Pauline's dedication to her family was unparalleled. She was the proud matriarch to her five sons, each of whom she guided into manhood with wisdom and love. Her legacy lives on through her family, which grew to include five cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her life was also marked by resilience in the face of adversity. After many years in her home, she moved to Apartment 14B, where she resided until a devastating gas explosion earlier this year displaced her. Despite these challenges, Pauline's spirit remained unbroken, and her love for her family and friends never wavered. Pauline's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a woman of great faith and compassion, whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pauline's remarkable life at a service to be held on October 9, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Balsamo Funeral Home, located at 3188 Westchester Ave, Bronx, NY. For further information, please contact the funeral home at 718-597-8380. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Pauline, honoring her spirit of giving and kindness. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we hold her memory close, and we are forever grateful for the love and lessons she imparted to us all. Pauline, you will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
