Mrs. Elizabeth A. Harris

Mrs. Elizabeth A. Harris, affectionately known as "Liz," departed this world on September 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Born on January 20, 1960, in Macon, Georgia, she was a beacon of warmth and generosity to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Liz was the cherished daughter of Mrs. Emma A. Wilson (Lee) and the late Mr. Woodrow Wilson. She shared her childhood with siblings Ulysses (Josephine Anita) Wilson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Quinton (Natasha) Wilson, who resides in their beloved hometown of Macon, Georgia. Liz's life was enriched by her cherished family and deeply rooted in the values she learned at home. In 1978, she married the love of her life, the late Mr. Theodore W. Harris Jr., in a ceremony held in Macon, Georgia. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, raising two devoted sons, Theodore W. Harris III (Sandy) and Charles W. Harris (Sue). Liz and Theodore shared 26 wonderful years, building a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Liz graduated from Central High School in 1978 and pursued her passion for caregiving by earning her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mercer University. Her career began as a plant operator at YKK and Gulf of Pale in Macon, Georgia, but it was at Boldingreen Health & Rehabilitation in Monroe County, Georgia, where she truly found her calling, working alongside her beloved mother. A devoted member of the Greater Bellevue Baptist Church for over 50 years, Liz's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was known for her boundless energy, radiant smile, and an innate compassion that touched everyone she met. Liz was a woman who would give her last to ensure others were cared for, yet she possessed a straightforward honesty that commanded respect. Liz found joy in the little things, especially in her role as a mother and grandmother. Her pride in her sons' accomplishments was immeasurable—Theo's service in the Navy and Charles's dedication in the Army brought her immense happiness. Her nine grandchildren, including Theo Harris IV, Alijah Harris, Deztinee Harris, DaKing Harris, DeMann (Harris) Mallory, Theodric Harris, Charles Harris Jr. (CJ), Keon S. Harris, and Musiq Harris, were the light of her life. A woman of many interests, Liz loved testing her luck at the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi, with her mother and church friends. Her competitive spirit shone brightly during spirited games of spades with her best friend and partner in mischief, Ms. Gwen Grayer. Liz's presence at the card table was legendary, and those who played against her knew they were in for an unforgettable experience. Liz's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In honor of her compassionate spirit, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Greater Bellevue Baptist Church, a place that held a special place in Liz's heart.
