It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mrs. Bridget Velveeta Pittman, who left this world peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by her cherished family. Bridget was born on August 27, 1956, in the vibrant city of Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Mr. Claude and Othenia Appling. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of love, resilience, and dedication to family. Bridget was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cleveland Louis Pittman, her cherished son, Cleveland Louis Pittman Jr., her dear sister, Elizabeth Appling, and her nurturing parents. Despite the profound losses she endured, Bridget remained a pillar of strength, embodying grace and compassion through all circumstances. Bridget's life was enriched by her deep love for her surviving family members: her sisters, Cassandra Shankle-Tate and Sanita Appling Chisholm (Andre), and her brothers, Claude Appling Jr. (Kimberly) and Rodney Appling (Cynthia). She was a guiding light for her children, Lataro Pittman (Zandria) and Shomari Pittman, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her five treasured grandchildren: Lyanna Pittman, Labrian Pittman, Camari Pittman, Camani Pittman, and Ashari Pass. Each grandchild was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and she delighted in their laughter and achievements, ever the proud grandmother. Bridget was an alumna of West Mecklenburg High School, where she laid the foundation for a fulfilling career in the healthcare field. Her dedication to caring for others was evident throughout her professional life, as she tenderly tended to her patients until her retirement. Her compassion and commitment to service left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Bridget's life was a tapestry of love, woven with threads of kindness, patience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Her legacy is one of love and cherished memories, and she will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched. As we say goodbye to Bridget, we take solace in the knowledge that she now rests in peace, reunited with those she loved so dearly. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of Bridget's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey and reflect on the incredible woman she was. Her family extends their gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time, and they take comfort in knowing that Bridget's spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her in return. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
