Mrs. Alberta Beatrice Lowery-Atkins

January 5, 1934 — October 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Alberta Beatrice Lowery-Atkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on October 4, 2026. Born on January 5, 1934, in Selmer, Tennessee, Alberta graced this world with her radiant spirit for 92 years. Alberta was the cherished daughter of Porter Lowery and Idella Lowery Atkins. Her early years were spent in the close-knit community of McNairy County, where she attended local schools and successfully attained her GED. Her strong work ethic was evident in her 18 years of employment at Aqua Glass in Adamsville, TN, where she was not only a dedicated employee but also a supportive colleague. In her personal life, Alberta was married to the late G.W Atkins, and together they nurtured a large and loving family of ten children. She is now joyously reunited with her daughter, Nora Lee Harris, who preceded her in death, along with her mother, Idella, her stepfather, Elmer Atkins, and her brother, Oneal Atkins. Alberta’s legacy lives on through her six sons, George, Clarence, Gilbert, Sidney, Timmie, and Marcus Atkins, and her three daughters, Barbara Robinson, Deborah Faye Taylor, and Elizabeth Atkins. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Carolyn Atkins, granddaughters Yulando, Cliesha, Candace, and Natasha Atkins, her grandsons Gilbert Jr, Justin, Timmie Jr, and Mecus Atkins. Along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by her life. A woman of deep faith, Alberta was an active member of the Forest Hills Church of Christ, where she was known for her quick wit, contagious smile, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Her kindness and commitment to spreading the gospel left an indelible mark on all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and doctors at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO, and the exceptional team at Crown Hospice Care. Their support and care brought comfort to Alberta and her loved ones during her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Alberta’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, an organization close to her heart. A private funeral service will be held to honor Alberta’s life, allowing her close family and friends to celebrate her journey in an intimate setting. Mrs. Alberta Beatrice Lowery-Atkins will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
