In Loving Memory

Mr Willie McPhaul ( Will)
October 25, 1966 — March 11, 2026
With heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Willie McPhaul, affectionately known as Will, on March 11, 2026, at his home in Charlotte, NC. Born on October 25, 1966, in Brooklyn, NY, Will was a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering faith who touched the lives of many with his warmth and sincerity.
Will was the cherished son of the late Willie McPhaul Jr. and Bessie Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Johnathan Harris. He is survived by his devoted stepfather, Manuel Harris, who was a constant source of support and love.
Will was blessed with a beautiful family, including his son, Willie McPhaul, lovingly known as (Chookie), and his daughters, April Nicole McPhaul, Jewel’e Elizabeth McPhaul, Chabris McPhaul, Saterria McPhaul, and Anijowan Bell. His family was the heart of his existence, and he delighted in the laughter and joy of his seven grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness. His grandpup, Gregg McPhaul, was a loyal companion who shared in his many adventures.
In 1998, Will married Elizabeth Arnez Jordan, and though their marriage ended in 2013, they shared the precious gift of their daughter, Jewel’e Elizabeth McPhaul.
A proud graduate of Zion Benton High School's Class of 1984, Will furthered his education at Central Piedmont Community College. His career was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as a self-employed individual and his passion for helping others as a volunteer substance abuse counselor—a role he held with deep compassion and understanding.
Will had a zest for life that was reflected in his love for fine dining, traveling, shopping, and his particular fondness for cars. A voracious reader of the Bible, he found solace and strength in his spiritual journey. Chicago held a special place in his heart, and he spoke of the Windy City with great fondness.
Those who knew Will remember him as a charismatic and principled man, one of God's chosen souls. He lived life with authenticity, owning every decision and embracing his past as part of his unique story. Will was a man of truth and integrity, never shying away from speaking his mind, yet his words were always guided by what was right and just. He lived life to its fullest, calling himself a prince, for indeed, that was his essence.
Will is survived by his best friend/ brother Anthony McNeill, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing in the joys and challenges of life.
A service to honor and celebrate Will's life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, located at 1424 Statesville Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206.
