With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Mr. William Irvin Glenn announces his peaceful passing on May 14, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 15, 1948, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, William was the beloved son of Mattie Mae Glenn and the late Henry Glenn. His early years were spent in the warm embrace of a loving family, alongside his predeceased siblings, Ethel Crockett, Gayle Cooper, Curtis Glenn, and Kenneth Glenn. William’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, creativity, and devotion to family. A proud graduate of Carver High School, he pursued a career that spanned several decades in industrial manufacturing as a skilled machine mechanic. For over 20 years, he dedicated his talents to Weaver Fertilizer and most recently brought his expertise to Matcor Metal Fabrication. His colleagues remember him as a diligent and reliable professional, whose work ethic inspired those around him. A man of many talents, William was a skilled handyman and an avid collector of tools. His passion for upcycling was evident in the beautifully crafted lawn chairs, picnic tables, and unique oil tank grills he created from scrap wood and metal. He was a gardener, a culinary artist, and a self-taught auto mechanic, always ready to lend a hand or share his latest project with friends and family. Creativity flowed through his veins, manifesting in the poems and handcrafted greeting cards he lovingly made for his dear mother. Among William’s greatest joys was his love for sports and racing. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and cherished the thrill of NASCAR racing, whether watching from home or occasionally visiting the speedway. William’s legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Donica Sephes, and their cherished children: sons William Commodore, Sr., Michael Thompson (Shenell), and Tre Jones; daughters Megan Letter-lough and Alexis Green. He was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. William is also survived by his treasured mother, Mattie Mae Glenn, his sister, Wanda Rhodes, and brothers Gregory Glenn (Cynthia) and Gordon Glenn of Dallas, TX. His extended family includes a host of relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. A celebration of William’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Clark S. Brown and Son’s Funeral Home, located at 727 N. Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The family extends a special message to all those who shared in William’s journey: "To Those I Leave Behind: I am the hush between your heartbeats, the warm weight of the sun on your shoulder. When you laugh, I rise like wind in the trees—when you weep, I am the hand you cannot see. I have not gone, only stepped into a room without walls. Call my name in the stillness, and I will answer in the language of love." In honoring William’s life, let us remember the warmth of his smile, the kindness of his heart, and the profound love he shared with all who knew him. May his spirit continue to inspire those he leaves behind, living on in the memories of laughter, love, and the beautiful legacy he created with his family and community.
