Mr Otis T Yarbrough

It is with deep sadness yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mr. Otis T. Yarbrough, who left this world on June 11, 1936. Born in the serene town of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Otis graced us with 87 years of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering kindness before passing away peacefully in his sleep. Otis was the cherished son of the late Henry and Alice Yarbrough, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, his first wife Hattie Yarbrough, his brother Clarence Yarbrough, and his grandson Travahn Fields. Their memories remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them. A devoted family man, Otis is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nia A. Yarbrough, who stood by his side throughout life's journey. He was a proud father to his daughters Vanessa Fields and Stephine Young, whose lives he enriched with his guidance and love, and their husbands, Randel Fields Sr. and Erick Young. Otis's legacy extends further to his five cherished grandchildren, Randel Fields Jr. and his wife Kristin, Justin Fields, Rodrick Causey and his wife Titiana, and Ernee Young, as well as his three great-grandchildren: Travahn O. Fields, Justina Fields, and Travahan Fields Jr. His family, along with a host of relatives and friends, continue to celebrate the legacy of love that he leaves behind. Otis's life was marked by dedication and service. He served his country with honor as an Airman Second Class in the Air Force, and later in the Air National Guard and its Reserve in Denver, Colorado. His commitment to service extended beyond the military to his professional life, where he spent over 60 years mastering the craft of furniture upholstery. Known as a skilled handyman, Otis could seemingly repair anything, a talent that brought joy to those who knew him. Education played a significant role in Otis's life. He graduated high school in Denver, Colorado, and furthered his skills at upholstery school at Denver College. His passion for learning and his work was matched only by his devotion to his church community at Christ of Christ. In his personal life, Otis found joy in the simple pleasures: sewing, fishing, and making those around him feel welcome and comfortable with his warm smiles and kind demeanor. He was a man who believed in the power of community, and his presence in the lives of others was both a gift and a blessing. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Otis T. Yarbrough will be held at the Veteran Mortuary in Chino. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his name to Veteran organizations, reflecting his lifelong commitment to his fellow servicemen and servicewomen.
