In loving memory of Mr. Eddie Keyes Sr, who passed away on September 19, 2026. Born on July 15, 1950, in Taylorsville, Mississippi, Eddie led a life marked by dedication, skill, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Eddie was the cherished son of the late Mr. Denson and Velma Keyes. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Ray Keyes, and his niece Robin Keyes. Eddie's memory will be lovingly carried on by his son, Eddie Keyes Jr., and daughter-in-law Shawanna of Atlanta, Georgia. His adoring grandchildren, Darion and Tiara Keyes, will forever hold him in their hearts. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Darlene Keyes and Polly Windham, along with her husband Dennis, both of Laurel, Mississippi. His legacy is further survived by his nieces, Erica Jones, Marquita Smith, and Keyara Windham, as well as a multitude of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Eddie spent his life as a master mechanic, a career that not only defined him but inspired those around him. His extraordinary ability to fix, build, and innovate was a testament to his talent and passion. Whether it was repairing an engine or crafting something from the ground up, Eddie's hands worked wonders. His determination and wisdom made him a revered figure in his field, and his contributions will always be remembered and celebrated.
Though his hands may rest, the legacy of his craftsmanship and the indelible mark he left on the lives of those he encountered will endure. He was a true master of his trade, and his absence will be deeply felt.
A service to honor Eddie’s life will be held at Brown Mortuary, located at 902 Susie B Ruffin Ave, Laurel, MS 39440. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in tribute to Eddie's generous and giving spirit.
Mr. Eddie Keyes Sr will be remembered for his remarkable skill, his unwavering love for his family, and his enduring impact on the world around him. May his soul find eternal peace.
