Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 19, 1957, Rona was a cherished daughter to the late James and Mary Johnson, and a beloved sister to her predeceased sister, Gail Johnson. After a courageous battle with illness, she left this world surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Rona's journey through life was one marked by love, laughter, and a deep commitment to both family and friends. She graduated from Northwestern High School, setting the stage for a dedicated career at the State Highway Administration, where she served as an Inspector. Her work ethic was impeccable, and she retired in 2014, leaving a legacy of service and dedication to her community.
Rona's heart was as vast as her spirit; she shared it generously with her surviving family members. She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Ashley light of her life her son-in-law, Anthony, Her granddog, Bella, will miss her gentle pats and loving presence. Her brother Neal, sister Annette, and sister-in-law Sylvia. Her nieces Teesh, Chi-Chi, Britt, and Briana, along with her nephews Joe, Mel-Mel, and Roshawn, will forever cherish the memories of their dear aunt.
In moments of joy and sorrow, Rona found solace in the company of her closest friends, Bitsy and Sharon. Her laughter, quick wit, and favorite saying, "I'm minding my own business," will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Rona loved spending time with her daughter, attending concerts, and traveling with friends. Her ability to bring laughter to any room was a gift she shared generously.
Rona's life will be celebrated on June 9, 2026, with a service at 12:30 PM at the Joseph H. Brown Funeral Home, located at 2140 N. Fulton Ave. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Rona's remarkable life and the warmth she brought to those around her.
