August 20, 1950 — February 12, 2026

The world has lost a shining light with the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend on February 11, 2026. Born on August 19, 1950, in the close-knit community of Coushatta, Louisiana, she graced this world with her radiant smile and warmth, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Daughter to the late Lucy Brewer Craig and Frank Davis, she was a beacon of love and joy from the very beginning. Preceded in death by her dear parents and brother Gene Brewer, her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted children, Andre Brewer, Tyler Brewer, and Christopher Hardy; her loving siblings, Charles Brewer, Louis Craig, Frankie Craig, Brenda Turner, and Linda Bell; her treasured grandchildren, Landrell “Dre” Brewer, Simone Coutee (Joshua Coutee), Crystal Brewer, Terell Brewer, Josh Jackson, Andre Brewer Jr., Taylor Lavine, and Kiara; and many others who affectionately called her their own, including 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Gloria, as she was fondly known, was a woman who wore many hats with grace and love. A nurturing mother, doting grandmother, and joyful great-grandmother, she had an unparalleled gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her laughter was infectious, her kindness boundless, and her generosity knew no limits. She was a vibrant spirit, always ready with a joke, a loving embrace, or a comforting meal that spoke volumes of her affection. Her career at Northwest State School, from which she retired early, was marked by her dedication and the warmth she extended to her colleagues and students alike. However, it was her role as an active member of Stonewall Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana, that truly defined her life's mission. Her faith was unwavering, and her service to her church and community was a testament to her deep-seated belief in love and fellowship. Gloria found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in cooking for her loved ones, where each dish was a labor of love. Her passion for playing bingo and dancing to old-school music brought her endless joy, often brightening the lives of those around her. Her presence could illuminate any room, and her dance moves were legendary among family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Willis Knighton Pierremont and Gentiva Hospice Shreveport for their compassionate care, ensuring her comfort and peace during her final days. A celebration of Gloria’s remarkable life will be held at 11:00 AM on February 21, 2026, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, located at 3851 US-71, Coushatta, LA. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and boundless generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Gloria’s memory by sharing a meal with loved ones, dancing with joy, and spreading kindness to everyone you meet. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the countless hearts she warmed throughout her lifetime.
