In Loving Memory
Martha C. Flores
March 13, 1938 — April 13, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, who departed this world peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 88. Born Maria Cordova on March 13, 1938, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she was the cherished daughter of the late Dolores and Donaciano Cordova. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Mother was predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Tony Flores. Their union, which began on April 4, 1971, was a source of strength and joy, lasting until Tony's passing on April 4, 2009. Together, they built a home that was a beacon of warmth, hospitality, and delectable aromas, welcoming all who crossed its threshold.
She is survived by her daughters, each of whom carries forward her legacy of strength and devotion: Beatriz (Bechy) Tepetla, Velma (Loly) Rangel and her husband Daniel, and Annalisa (Nana) Flores. Her love extended to her many grandchildren: Martha Cooper, Veronica Marentes, Eliza Marentes, Adriana Marentes, Jovyna Rangel, Joshua Rangel, Jasmine Rangel, and Jacqueline Rangel. Her great-grandchildren, Christher Cooper Jr., Caitlyn Cooper, Anthony Madrigal, Carlos Gonzalez, Camila Gonzalez, Aryella Rodriguez, Ayeeda Rangel, Xiomara Medina, and Luna Wright, were her pride and joy, each a testament to her enduring legacy.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents Dolores and Donaciano Cordova, her husband Tony Flores, her grandson Marcos Anthony Gonzalez, and her siblings Javier, Irma, Elena, and Eduardo.
Her surviving family extends to the Cordova brothers and sisters, and an abundance of nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her indomitable spirit and generous nature.
Mother was known for her incredible culinary talents, turning each meal into a feast of flavors and comfort. Her cooking was an expression of love, an invitation to gather and share in the joy of togetherness. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she cultivated not only plants but also a deep connection to the earth, which she shared with all who visited. Despite her petite stature, her presence was formidable; she was a woman of sass and determination, with an uncanny ability to get things done.
Though she was not one to outwardly express affection, her love was evident in her actions. She was a fighter and a provider, ensuring her family never went without. Her home was a haven for those in need, a testament to her giving nature and open heart.
We find comfort in knowing that she is now a guardian angel, joining her grandson Mark Anthony Gonzalez in watching over us.
A service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on April 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Homes, located at 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in her memory, to continue her legacy of giving. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know her.
