Sharon Lynn Cooke
June 29, 1950 — April 1, 2026
In loving memory, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman, known affectionately to those who cherished her as "Mother." She was born on June 29, 1950, in the sunlit town of Pomona, California, and peacefully departed this world on April 1, 2026, in the comfort of her own home. Her journey through life was rich with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Mother grew up in Anaheim, California, where she graduated from Western High School in June of 1968. It was a time marked by hope and promise, and just days after her graduation, she embarked on her life's greatest adventure by marrying her beloved Kenneth Cooke on June 22, 1968. Their union was a testament to enduring love, a partnership that weathered all of life's seasons until Kenneth's passing.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she dedicated her life to being a homemaker, crafting a home filled with warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Mother was the heart of her family, nurturing her children, Michael (Kelly) Cooke and Kimberly (Mike) LaPointe, with unconditional love and guiding them with wisdom and grace. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Brandon (Mikayla) LaPointe and Stephanie (Dallin) Nelsen, and further extends to her cherished great-grandchildren, Hayes, James, and Cora, who were her pride and joy.
Mother had a zest for life that was contagious. She found delight in celebrating the holidays, where her home would transform into a haven of festive joy and togetherness. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, where laughter would echo through the room, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her love for the great outdoors was evident in her passion for camping and cruising, adventures that brought her closer to nature and those she loved. A voracious reader, she found solace and inspiration in the pages of countless books, always eager to share a good story.
In her final days, Mother was supported by the compassionate caregivers at Summit Hospice, whose kindness and dedication provided comfort and peace. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their exceptional care.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. Though she has left this earthly realm, Mother's spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories she created and the love she shared, knowing that she will forever be with us in spirit.
