Moses Canaar Green

June 17, 1943 — July 4, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Moses Canaar Green, who departed this world on July 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Moses was born on June 17, 1943, at Bethel Hospital, to the late Willie and Bertha Green. His life was a testament to service, dedication, and love, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Moses was predeceased by his beloved parents, his sister Katy Green, and his brother Peter Green. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Bessie Green, who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges. Together, they built a family rooted in love, raising three cherished children: Katy Miller (Frank Miller), Carl Green, and Roland Green. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Carlton Miller, Rebecca Miller, Helena Miller, and Michaela Green, as well as his great-grandchildren, Axel Miller, Kelly Carter, and John Flynn III. In his early years, Moses proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, retiring with over two decades of honorable service. His commitment to community was evident in his work with the Eek City Council and the Iqfijouaq Board, where he dedicated countless hours to improving the lives of others. A man of the land and sea, Moses was a commercial fisherman for many years. He found joy and purpose in hunting and fishing, providing for his family with the fruits of his labor and sharing his love for nature with those around him. His hands were strong, his heart was kind, and his spirit was unyielding. The celebration of Moses's life will take place on July 11, 2026, at the Eek Moravian Church, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the remarkable life he led. Moses's family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of one's choice in his memory. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Eek health aides Kimberly Hoffman and Janaye Cleveland, as well as the dedicated providers at Life Med, YKHC, and ANMC. Special thanks also go to the Iqfijouaq Corporation, CVRF, Eek Traditional Council, Ryan Air, and individuals Annie Don, Grace White, Uli Felarca, Oscar Evon, George and Agnes Alexie, and Stella Petluska for their generous support during this time. Quyana. Moses Canaar Green leaves behind a legacy rich in love, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
