It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Morgan Rachel Troy, who departed this world on May 7, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on April 7, 1956, in the United States, Morgan was a beacon of light, humor, and kindness in the lives of all who knew her. Her journey came to a peaceful close following a sudden heart attack, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished forever.
Morgan was the cherished daughter of the late Michelle Troy and Robert Troy. Her mother, Michelle, predeceased her, and they are now reunited in eternal peace. Morgan is survived by her loving family: her devoted brother, Manny, and her caring sisters, Tammy and Alexis. She was the treasured wife of Jerry Vail, with whom she shared a life filled with love and joy. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Mike Vail and Greg Vail, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren , Darin Vail, Michelle Moore, who will forever carry her spirit within their hearts.
Morgan's educational journey was marked by her determination and quest for knowledge. She began by earning her high school diploma and continued her education in tech school, ultimately pursuing a university degree. Her professional life was characterized by dedication and compassion, starting with her first job at Dairy Queen, which instilled in her a strong work ethic. She later found her true calling as a Physical Therapist, where her gentle touch and understanding nature brought comfort and healing to many.
Morgan's life was a tapestry woven with diverse interests and hobbies that brought her immense joy. Whether she was casting a line while fishing, creating beautiful pieces through knitting, or pounding the pavement on a run, she embraced each moment with passion and enthusiasm. Her personality was a delightful blend of humor and warmth, known for being funny, silly, kind, and at times hilariously outspoken, with a touch of fiery spirit.
A memorial service to celebrate Morgan's remarkable life will be held on May 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Paz Funeral Home, located at 18 Lincoln Street Suite, Coxsackie, NY. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available at

The family kindly requests that donations be made in Morgan's memory to the American Heart Association or the Stroke Foundation. Contributions can be made. Additionally, a memorial fund has been established in her honor at St. Jude’s Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
