Monica McQueer

May 19, 1986 — September 23, 2026

Monica McQueer, beloved daughter of Kevin and Mikki, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2026. Born on May 19, 1986, in Traverse City, Michigan, Monica's life was a testament to love and selflessness. Monica was a proud member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, a community that she cherished deeply. Her life was guided by the values of her heritage, always placing family and community at the forefront of her actions. Her big heart and generous spirit meant she would help anyone in need at any time. To Monica, family was not just defined by blood but by the bonds she built with many friends, whom she cherished as her own family. Monica's legacy lives on through her three children, Kevin (KJ), Phenox, and Koriannah, whom she adored and dedicated her life to raising with love and care. Her longtime partner, Doug Hammon, was her steadfast companion, sharing countless moments of joy and laughter. Monica is also survived by her mother, Mikki Miller-Stork (Blaine), and her brothers, Tim (Betsy), Chris, Charles, Erik, and Blaine (Michelle), who stood by her side through life's adventures. Though she is deeply missed, Monica is now reunited with her father, her paternal grandparents, her maternal grandmother, and several cherished aunts and uncles who predeceased her. Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her extended family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will remember her warmth and kindness. In honoring Monica's life, the family suggests that those wishing to make a donation do so in her memory to an organization close to her heart or a charity of their choice. This gesture would be a fitting tribute to a woman whose life was defined by her compassion and unwavering love for others. Monica McQueer will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to family, her kindness that knew no bounds, and her love that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for all who knew her.
