Born on April 29, 1976, in Amarillo, Texas, Monica was a cherished daughter, sister, spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. Monica was the beloved daughter of Sylvia Martinez and the late Arthur Lucero. She was a devoted wife to Anthony Phea, with whom she shared a life filled with love and laughter. Monica was a loving mother to her children, Tyler Mccain and wife Alazzai Mccain, Arianna Lucero, and Antonaisha Flanagan. Her heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her six precious grandchildren: Amaiyah, Addison, Arizona, and John Mccain, Kylen Smith, and A'lani Patterson. A sister to two dear siblings, Cecilia Lucero and Criselda Lucero, Monica's family was an integral part of her life. Her love and dedication to her family were unparalleled, with her world revolving around her children and grandchildren. Monica was known for her heart of gold, a woman who never met a stranger and whose smile could light up any room she entered. Her unique and loving personality left an indelible mark on everyone she met. To know Monica was to love her. She may not have had much, but she gave everything she had to those around her. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of Monica's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at More Church, located at 5511 W Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo, Texas 79106. The service will begin at 9:00 a.m., where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Monica's spirit of giving and love for her community. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. The love shown for Monica truly exemplifies how much she meant to everyone and highlights the special place she held in so many hearts. Monica will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her spirit lives on in the love she shared and the memories cherished by her family and friends.
