Mona Knight

Mona Knight, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 75, from natural causes. Born on May 11, 1951, in the vibrant city of San Francisco, Mona lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. Mona was the cherished daughter of Ben Jackson and grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Henry Knight, Marvin Knight, Loretta Knight, and Sabrina Johnson. Her formative years were spent in San Francisco, where she graduated from Mission High School. It was here that she forged lifelong friendships, including a 15-year friendship that blossomed into a loving marriage with her best friend and husband, a union that was celebrated in the heart of San Francisco. For 30 years, Mona dedicated her professional life to being a youth advocate, a role in which she touched countless lives and made asignificant impact in her community. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to helping young people find their path were hallmarks of her character. After her meaningful career, she retired from the San Francisco Transit, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues. An active member of the Saint Peter and Paul Church, Mona's faith was a guiding light in her life. She was a woman of many talents and interests; she found joy in simple pleasures such as playing bingo, knitting, and cooking sumptuous meals for her beloved family. Her home was a gathering place, filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her culinary creations. Mona's legacy lives on through her children, Chandrel Cobb, Peter Cobb, Lisa Johnson, and Larry Cook, and her seven grandchildren: Anndrew Mackey, Lisa Mackey, James Donald, Tyler Donald, and Henry Donald. She was also blessed with the joy of five great-grandchildren, who were a source of great pride and happiness. Her life was further enriched by the company of her close friends, Jaylen Love and Gerald Cooper, whose companionship she treasured deeply. Mona's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community will forever be remembered. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know and love her.
