In Loving Memory

Martha N McIntosh
May 24, 1947 — May 3, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, affectionately known to many as "Mom." Born on May 24, 1947, in the quaint town of Greenville, Mississippi, she graced this world with her presence for 78 beautiful years before peacefully departing on May 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with numerous illnesses.
Mom was the beloved daughter of the late Parthenia W. Lee and James A. Weston Sr. She was also preceded in death by her dear brother, Charlie L. Weston. Her journey was marked by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
She began her educational journey at Julia Armstrong, later attending Coleman High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with learning and growth. Professionally, Mom dedicated herself to various roles, each reflecting her versatile talent and commitment to hard work.
Beyond her career, her life was enriched by simple joys. She found solace and delight in cross word puzzles, which challenged her sharp mind, and she was an avid lover of music, her tastes spanning multiple genres that brought joy to her days.
Mom’s essence was defined by her kind heart and her unyielding desire to help those around her. Her smile was a beacon of warmth, as radiant as the sun itself, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of witnessing it.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family members: Brother James (Eurdell) Weston, Sister Carolyn Watson & Sister N Law Mary Ann Weston. Children’s Rhonda Weston, Lawrence McIntosh, Sharon McIntosh, Demetrise (Marvin) Alexander, and Demond McIntosh. Her spirit also lives on in her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring influence and love.
A service to honor Mom’s life will be held on May 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Leaks & Son Funeral Home, Chapel Lunsford, located at 7838 S Cottage Grove, Chicago, Illinois 60619. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Leaks & Sons for their exceptional service and to everyone who loved Martha and shared in her journey.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and selfless generosity. Mom's legacy will forever remain etched in our hearts, a guiding light that will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind.
