It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished matriarch, lovingly known as "Mom," on May 22, 2026. Born on March 21, 1941, in the warm embrace of Crockett, Texas, she gently departed this world surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life. Mom was the beloved daughter of Stanley and Mary Lena Moore, who instilled in her the values of kindness and hospitality that she carried throughout her life. She was the treasured sibling to her late brother, Charles Moore, and her dearly missed sisters, Claudia Mae Moore, Lee Ethel Moore, Mamie LaVerne Edwards, Eula Mae Wingham, Clara Bell Houston, and Melvine Feast. Her lifetime partner, Carl Edward Berry, and daughter, Cathy Lynn White, preceded her in passing, yet their memories were lovingly cherished by her every day. Her journey on this earth was marked by a dedication to family, faith, and community. Mom's open-door policy was legendary; her home was a sanctuary of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. She never turned anyone away, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and cared for. Her loving spirit was a guiding light for her surviving children, son Jeffery White, and daughter Tequicha Price, who continue to uphold her legacy of compassion and generosity. Her nurturing presence extended to her grandchildren, Brandy White, Reshard White, Teshuna Lockhart, Brenda Mitchell, and Shakilia Dillard, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren and a growing number of great-great-grandchildren, all of whom inherited her enduring spirit and love for life. Mom's professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She dedicated many years working at a local cleaners around the square in her beloved Crockett, Texas. Later, she found her calling in the culinary arts, sharing her talents and love through cooking at several businesses across her community. Her work was more than a career; it was an extension of her heart, nourishing not only bodies but also souls with her delicious meals. Her life was filled with simple pleasures that brought her immense joy. She found solace in her faith and was a devoted churchgoer, finding strength and community within the walls of her church. She delighted in taking care of her family, ensuring that each member felt loved and supported. When she sought a bit of adventure, she headed to the casino, where laughter and fun were always on the agenda. In honoring her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life, reflecting the personal and intimate nature of her relationships. We gather in spirit and in love to remember the incredible woman who blessed us with her presence. As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable soul, we hold tight to the lessons she imparted and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Mom. Your love will forever guide us.
