In Loving Memory

Janice Ann Warren
August 7, 1955 — April 9, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Ann Warren, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left this world on April 9, 2026. Born on August 7, 1955, in the heart of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Janice's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Janice was a beacon of strength and compassion, whose warmth enveloped all who knew her. She was predeceased by her cherished mother, Lillie Ann Warren, and her dear brother, Lawrence Wright. Her legacy of love endures through her surviving family, including her devoted sister, Nadine Bernard, and her brother, Joseph Wright.
A single mother who dedicated her life to her family, Janice is survived by her children, Michael Brown, Pokey Brown, Crystal Brown, and her youngest, Toya Brown, whose care and well-being were the cornerstones of Janice's life. Her boundless love extended to her grandchildren, Corion, Lavelle, Marlon, Tyree, Z’Rhyia, My’Khaia, Crystal, and Aaryiah, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Nyla and Ziar. They were the light of her life, and her spirit will forever guide them.
Janice shared a 15-year long-term relationship with Michael Brown, with whom she built a life filled with shared dreams and mutual respect. Though never married, their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Throughout her life, Janice held various jobs, including her role as a housekeeper, but her primary calling was as a devoted caregiver to her special needs daughter, Toya. Her selflessness and dedication were unparalleled, and she found immense joy and fulfillment in being Toya's guardian and advocate.
Janice's home was a sanctuary of love and acceptance. Known for her forgiving nature and open heart, she welcomed troubled children into her home, offering them solace and protection. Her porch was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace in the simple act of sitting outside, watching the world go by.
Her life was marked by a profound sense of empathy and kindness. She was a protector of those she loved and those she felt needed love, always ready to extend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, and an enduring commitment to family and community.
Janice's journey, though marked by the sudden diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer in April of 2026, was one of courage and grace. She took her last breath at home, surrounded by the love of her son Michael and her precious grandchildren, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.
As we celebrate Janice Ann Warren's life, we honor the warmth and love she brought into the world. May her spirit continue to inspire us, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations supporting caregivers of special needs children, in honor of Janice's lifelong dedication to her daughter, Toya.
