In Loving Memory

Jo Ellen (Valentino) Minturn
January 20, 1950 — March 31, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved soul, known to all simply as "Mom". Born on January 20, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, she departed this world peacefully on March 31, 2026, at Riverside Hospital, leaving a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Daughter of Walter and Josephine Valentino, Mom was a beacon of light and love to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A proud valedictorian of her nursing class, she dedicated her life to the service of others, not only through her professional endeavors but also in her personal life, where her compassion and kindness knew no bounds. Her legendary gift-giving, especially during the Christmas season, mirrored the warmth and generosity that were her trademarks.
Mom was married for 54 beautiful years to her soulmate, Douglas Minturn. Together, they weathered life's storms and celebrated its joys, creating a tapestry of memories filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Doug and her beloved sister Nikki Valentino predeceased her, and we take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
Her life was a testament to her profound faith; she taught Sunday school, led worship services, and embraced her role as a Pastor's wife with grace and dedication. Her love for gardening, shopping, and traveling added joy and vibrancy to her life, and she was known for being a consummate hostess and an exceptional cook.
Mom is survived by her loving children, Lisa (Todd) Rinehart and Bennee (Becky) Minturn, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her grandsons Anthony, Chance, Chace, and Cade, and her precious great-granddaughter, Aaliyah, were the apples of her eye. They will forever cherish the countless memories and life lessons she imparted.
In this time of grief, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Champion Church and Riverside Hospital for their unparalleled compassion and care for Mom and the family during this difficult period. Mom's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in celebrating Mom's incredible life and the indelible mark she left on this world. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her love will continue to guide us in the days ahead. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
