In Loving Memory

Mishell Elaine (Manthe) Lendborg
April 12, 1957 — June 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Mishell Elaine (Manthe) Lendborg, who left us peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 69. Mishell departed this world from her home in Madison, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love and warmth of her cherished family, after a short but valiant battle with kidney cancer.
Born on April 12, 1957, in Madison, Mishell was the beloved daughter of Robert and Elaine (Schey) Manthe. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, her sister Kelly, and her brother-in-law Jamie. Mishell's legacy continues through her loving children: daughter Melissa Lendborg, sons Justin Lendborg and Joshua (Ashley) Lendborg. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Raven Lendborg, Madison Woerpel, Mason Lendborg, and Carter Lendborg, and a bonus grandmother to her great-niece Lilly Chambers.
Mishell's life was a tapestry of vibrant colors woven with love, laughter, and adventure. Her love for travel took her across the globe, sharing countless adventures with her daughter Melissa and granddaughter Raven. Together, they explored numerous countries and traversed nearly every U.S. state, creating treasured memories along the way. Although a planned cruise to Alaska was canceled due to her ailing health, Mishell's adventurous spirit remained undiminished.
A true Wisconsinite, Mishell found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from tending to her garden and crafting beautiful creations to the thrill of playing her favorite slot machines at the casino. She relished the vibrant atmosphere of flea markets, garage sales, and craft fairs, and was a dedicated fan at concerts and Packer games. Yet, her greatest joy was the time spent with her family, whom she loved dearly.
Mishell's warmth and humor were her trademarks. She had an uncanny ability to forge connections with people wherever she went, often striking up conversations with strangers and leaving them with a smile. Her sense of humor, at times delightfully irreverent, endeared her to all who knew her. Above all, Mishell's generosity and compassion were boundless; she had a heart as big as her love for those around her and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Mishell is survived by her loving sisters, Sherry (Tom) Anderson, Roberta Bohling, and Alicia Weihert, along with her nieces and nephews: Jason and Jenny Anderson, Jessica Chambers, Jeremy Weihert, Hunter, and Zach Bohling. She leaves behind great-nieces and nephews Lilly, Deion, Alana, Curtis, and Dylan, who will forever cherish her memory.
Mishell was married to Daniel Lendborg on October 18, 1980, and they shared ten years of companionship.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Agrace Hospice Care team for their compassionate care during Mishell's final weeks, with special thanks to Kelly, Marie, Nicole, and the entire team.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mishell's memory may be made to Agrace Hospice Care, an organization dear to her heart, at www.agrace.org.
As we bid farewell to Mishell, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a spirit that touched the hearts of many. Her laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit will forever be remembered and cherished. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave to others.
