It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam Johnson, who departed this world on August 23, 2026, at the age of 101. Miriam was born on January 11, 1925, in the charming city of Jackson, Mississippi, to her loving parents, Donnie J. Johnson and Jessie M. Johnson. Miriam was a beacon of light and warmth, known for her sweet smile that could illuminate any room she entered. Her presence was a comfort to those around her, and her gentle demeanor endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Despite being a very personal person, her kindness and caring nature touched many lives. She was predeceased by her cherished family members, Gracy Jones, Walter Johnson, Cathy Mae, and Willibee, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms. Miriam leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Cathy Johnson and Billy Johnson, who will forever cherish the memories they created with their beloved mother. She was also a proud grandmother to nine adoring grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and values. Miriam shared a beautiful life with her late husband, James, whose love and support were a cornerstone of her happiness. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In her lifetime, Miriam held a deep connection to her faith community and was a devoted member of the Central Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to the Central Baptist Church in Columbus. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all her friends and family who have supported them during this time. As per Miriam's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. Miriam Johnson's warmth, love, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
