Miriam (Dolly) Tamburello

March 6, 1942 — April 13, 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of Miriam "Dolly" Tamburello announces her peaceful passing on April 13, 2026, at the age of 84, at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ. Born on March 6, 1942, in Elmont, NY, Dolly was a beacon of warmth and love, whose life was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering faith. The beloved daughter of Cyril and Ruth (nee Erler) Drake, Dolly was raised with strong family values and a deep-rooted sense of compassion. Her early years were spent in the vibrant community of Morristown, where she graduated from Morristown High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and partnership when she married Raymond W. Tamburello Sr. in October of 1962. Together, they built a beautiful family and a home filled with laughter and love. Dolly was a dedicated mother to her four adoring children: Raymond W. Jr., David C., Nancy J., and Daniel J. Her nurturing spirit was further extended to her cherished grandchildren, of whom she had nine, and to her four great-grandchildren, who were the light of her later years. Dolly’s love and legacy live on in each of them. Professionally, Dolly was a diligent and respected worker at Ma Bell in Morristown and later at Welkind Rehabilitation Hospital in Chester. Her career was marked by her dedication and her ability to bring positivity to her colleagues and those she served. A woman of deep faith, Dolly was an active member of the Mendham Hills Chapel in Chester, where she found spiritual nourishment and a sense of community. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through times of joy and challenges alike. Dolly was known for her exceptional culinary skills and her passion for gardening. Her home was often filled with the aroma of her delicious meals, which brought family and friends together around her table. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and joy in nurturing life. Her kindness and warmth were matched by her strength and resilience, qualities that inspired all who knew her. She was a devoted sister to Ruth Carothers and was predeceased by her siblings Robert Drake Sr., Jean Bowen, and John Drake, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. As we remember Dolly, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to her family and faith. Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and an unyielding spirit that touched everyone she met. A memorial service to honor Dolly's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share stories and memories, celebrating the extraordinary woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Mendham Hills Chapel, reflecting Dolly’s lifelong commitment to her faith community. Dolly will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
