It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Miriam Dinorah Arce, who departed this world on September 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband and son. Born on September 20, 1936, in Union de Reyes, Matanzas, Cuba, Miriam lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to family and community. Miriam was the beloved daughter of Joseph Gonzalo Gomez and Eugenia Borges Gomez. She was predeceased by her dear brothers, Jorge and Jose Gomez, and her cherished sisters, Yojela and Cuca Gomez. She is survived by her loving sister, Nena Gomez; her devoted husband, Lazaro Salvador Arce; and their cherished son, Lazaro Salvador Arce Jr. Miriam's legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Skyler and Tyler Arce, who brought immense joy to her life. Miriam's life was a testament to her strong and nurturing spirit. She completed her high school education at Commerce High in Yonkers, NY, before embarking on a dedicated 35-year career with Crowell Towers, also in Yonkers. Her commitment to her work was a reflection of her steadfast character. A pillar of her community, Miriam was an active member of Union de Reyes in Exilio, and she held a special place in the hearts of her friends and neighbors. Her compassionate nature and open heart led many to consider her a best friend. Miriam's home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where she welcomed all with open arms. Miriam was profoundly proud of her Cuban heritage and was an active participant in The Cuban Community. She was a devoted mother who lovingly supported her son throughout his life, embodying the very essence of kindness and care. Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor Miriam's life at a service on September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Moth Funeral Home, located on Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Miriam's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart. As we bid farewell to Miriam, we remember her as a beacon of love and compassion. Her spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
