Born on October 10, 1943, in the beautiful town of Dahlonega, Georgia, Minnie graced this world with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her. Her life was a testament to kindness, humor, and resilience, qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Minnie was the beloved daughter of the late Willie and Lula Black, who instilled in her the values of family and community that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Loretta Black, Bill Black, and Evelyn Shope, each of whom she shared a close bond with. These relationships were the foundation of Minnie's strength and spirit.
As a devoted mother, Minnie is survived by her loving daughter, Buffy Smith, and her son-in-law, Tommy, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her pride and joy, granddaughters Amber and Alex, will forever remember her gentle guidance and infectious laughter. Minnie also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Jo Jones, Rodney Black, and Mike Shope, along with their families, who were all touched by her generous heart.
Her legacy extends to 10 great-nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-nieces and nephews, each carrying forward the values she held dear. Minnie's family fondly recalls her unwavering support, her delicious home-cooked meals, and her ability to make anyone feel welcome and loved.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate Minnie's life. Her family invites those who wish to honor her memory to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting Minnie's lifelong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place.
Minnie Westbrook's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her, reminding us of the power of love, grace, and compassion. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the precious memories she gifted us, eternally grateful for the time we shared with her.
