It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Minna Yee Kay Wong, a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched countless lives. Minna was born on April 1, 1970, in the bustling city of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, to her loving parents, Cheong Yow Wong and Pauline Hung. She departed this world on July 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and inspiration.
Minna's journey was one of extraordinary achievement and profound joy. She was a devoted wife to Chun Lung Andrew "Andy" Nam, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 27 years. Their love story began in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where they wed on June 12, 1999, embarking on a life filled with shared dreams and adventures. Together, they found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching movies, exploring romantic destinations, or discovering new culinary delights in the city.
A proud alumna of the University of British Columbia, Minna earned her BA in Finance and an MBA in Business Management. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Qoolness.com, a company that flourished under her leadership. She was also the co-founder and co-host of two beloved television shows, "The Chronically Healthy Life" and "The Chronic Health Collective," where her passion for health and well-being shone brightly.
Minna's life was a symphony of creativity and curiosity. An avid lover of music, she found solace in writing songs and playing the piano. Her love for cats was unmatched, and she had a special place in her heart for every feline friend she encountered. She was known to be quirky and rebellious, with a unique sense of humor that endeared her to those fortunate enough to understand it. Her perceptive nature and introverted charm made her a cherished confidante and friend.
Minna's world was painted in all shades of purple, and her love for fast cars and dancing was infectious. She found peace in walks on the beach and was renowned for her hyper-organized nature, which was a testament to her disciplined and caring spirit. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return.
She is survived by her devoted husband Andy, her father Cheong Yow Wong, and her beloved sisters, Andrea Wong and Zenia Wong. Minna was predeceased by her mother, Pauline Wong, who passed away in 2020.
