Minister Beatrice Roberts

August 6, 1950 — March 2, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Minister Beatrice Roberts, who peacefully departed this life on March 2, 2026, at Morrison Manor Hospice Facility. Born on August 6, 1950, in the heart of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Beatrice was a beacon of light, love, and faith to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Daughter of the late James Bostic and Magnolia McLean, Beatrice was raised with strong values and an enduring love for her community and family. Her life's journey was marked by unwavering faith, kindness, and a commitment to service. She was predeceased by her loving parents and two cherished brothers, Walter McLean and James Lee Jones, whose memories she held close throughout her life. Beatrice's legacy of love continues through her devoted family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Michelle Alford, and her son, John Wesley Alford III, and his wife Catrenia, residing in Decatur, Georgia. Her spirit lives on in her dear brothers, Ernest McLean and his wife Estella of High Point, NC, and Willie James Montgomery; her sisters Reverend Betty Campbell and her husband Bobby, Annie McCall and her husband Rickey, and Shelia Green and her husband Freddie, all of Laurinburg, NC. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her five grandchildren—Raejon D. Alford, Onijea Leach, Jaheem I. Alford, Craig J. Alford, and the late Shantez H.R. Alford—and her four great-grandchildren, Cali I. Alford, Donovan M. Alford, Nova R. Alford, and Cevyn Simpson. A host of special nieces, nephews, and other relatives also carry forward her legacy of love. Minister Roberts was not only a dedicated family woman but also a committed community servant. She spent her career at Campbell Soup Company in Maxton, NC, retiring after years of dedicated service. Her true calling, however, was in her spiritual work as an active Minister at Unionville Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg, NC. Her faith was her guiding light, and she was a cherished member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Laurinburg. Beatrice was a woman of many talents and interests. She found immense joy in freelance painting, tending to her yard, exercising, traveling, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family. Her kind smile, gentle voice, and deep love for the Lord left an indelible mark on all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Morrison Manor Hospice Facility for their compassionate care, as well as to Dr. Terri Weber, Andrea Deviner, Samantha Shaw, and Companion Home Care in Laurinburg, for their unwavering support during her final days. A celebration of Minister Beatrice Roberts' life will be held on March 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Union Missionary Baptist Church, located at 19400 Blakely Rd, Laurinburg, NC. Friends, family, and community members are invited to join in honoring a life dedicated to faith, family, and love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Beatrice's memory to Unionville Missionary Baptist Church, supporting the continued work of faith and service that she held so dear. May her soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of the Lord she served so faithfully.
