Mindy Duckworth
November 6, 1957 — May 16, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mindy Duckworth, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on the night of May 16, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Mindy was born on November 6, 1957, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Donald and Doris Elliott.
Mindy's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication. She graduated from Hazelwood East High School in 1976, pursued higher education at Southeast Missouri State University, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Business in 1980. Her professional journey began in the insurance industry, where she worked diligently for over two decades. However, her true calling emerged when she transitioned to providing compassionate care for autistic children in special needs classrooms across the Fox School District. Her commitment and passion for these children left an indelible mark on the community and those she served.
On June 20, 1981, Mindy married the love of her life, Keith Duckworth. Together, they shared nearly 45 beautiful years, filled with unwavering support and love. Their union blessed them with a son, Chris, whose life they enriched with their boundless love and wisdom. Chris and his wife, Laura, further graced Mindy's life with two grandchildren, Elliott and Connor, whom she adored beyond measure. Her grandchildren were a source of immense joy, and she seized every opportunity to spoil them with affection and thoughtful gifts.
Mindy was predeceased by her father, Donald Elliott; her cousins, Tim and Mark Elliott; and her brother-in-law, Gary Duckworth. She is survived by her devoted mother, Doris Elliott, her loving husband, Keith, her son, Chris, and his family, Laura, Elliott, and Connor. Her family was her world, and she devoted herself to making their lives as joyful and fulfilling as possible.
A dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 30 years, Mindy found solace and community in her faith. She was also a vibrant member of her community, enjoying her time selling Jordan Essentials Bath and Body products, where she formed lasting friendships and spread joy with her infectious spirit.
Mindy was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an avid reader and keen shopper, often delighting in finding the best deals at Kohl's. Her home was always open to family and friends, where she extended her warmth and hospitality, making everyone feel cherished and loved. Known for her overwhelming desire to make her loved ones' lives easier, Mindy was a loyal friend, an exceptional gift-giver, and a force of nature in accomplishing her goals.
A service to celebrate Mindy's remarkable life will be held on June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 6101 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them for visitation at 10:00 a.m., preceding the service, with a luncheon to follow.
In honoring Mindy's memory, let us remember her with the same warmth and kindness she shared with us. She will forever be in our hearts, a guiding light and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
