In Loving Memory of Milton Wade
Milton Anthony Wade, affectionately known as “Carol” and “Elder Wade,” passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born and raised in Halmwalk, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Elder Wade dedicated his life to education, ministry, and service. He faithfully served as Principal of Old Harbour Bay Primary School for many years until his retirement, leaving an enduring legacy of excellence, wisdom, and compassion. As an educator, he inspired generations of students not only through academic instruction but also through the life lessons and humor he so generously shared.
A gifted storyteller, Elder Wade authored the delightful book Laughter on Mount Augustas, a collection of humorous stories reflecting his rural Jamaican upbringing and the memorable life experiences he often recounted to his students. His warmth, wit, and ability to find joy in everyday moments endeared him to all who knew him.
His pursuit of knowledge led him to study at Moneague Teachers’ College, The Mico Teachers’ College (now Mico University College), Northern Caribbean University, and Mount Saint Vincent University. His commitment to lifelong learning strengthened both his educational career and his ministry.
Above all, Elder Wade was a devoted husband, loving father and family man, dedicated teacher, faithful elder, and humble servant of God. His greatest passion was advancing the Kingdom of God through faithful service. He devoted countless years to planting churches, winning souls for Christ, mentoring believers, and encouraging others to develop a deeper relationship with God. His unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and selfless dedication touched countless lives both within the church and throughout the wider community.
Elder Wade’s legacy is not measured simply by the positions he held, but by the lives he transformed through his kindness, integrity, wisdom, and steadfast commitment to Christ. He leaves behind a testimony of faithful service that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Though he will be deeply missed, his life remains a powerful reminder that a life lived in service to God and others leaves an eternal impact. Milton Wade's life was a testament to the strength of faith, the power of love, and the impact of selfless service. As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable man, we hold onto the memories and lessons he imparted with gratitude and love. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Milton's life will be held on July 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Portmore SDA Church in Portmore, Jamaica. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable life are invited to join in remembering and honoring him.
