It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Milica Petkovic, affectionately known to many as Mary or Mrs. P, who left this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 12, 1942, in the picturesque town of Knin, Croatia, Milica was the cherished daughter of Petar and Zorka Dragicevic. Milica’s journey through life was one of boundless love, dedication, and generosity. In the vibrant city of Birmingham, she found her soulmate, marrying on March 10, 1967. Together, they built a life filled with love and warmth, raising four wonderful children—Nada, Boja, Nikola, and Petar. Her family was the center of her universe, and she found immense joy in nurturing and supporting them. A woman of faith and community, Milica was an active member of the Serbian Orthodox community and devoted much of her time to the Serbian Women’s Circle. Her commitment to her heritage and community was a testament to her passionate spirit and generous heart. Milica's family was her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren—Doyle, Silas, Harrison, and Keaira. Her home was always filled with laughter and the delicious aromas of traditional Serbian dishes she lovingly prepared. Milica had a green thumb, tending to her garden with the same care and dedication that she showed her family. Her life was also graced with simple pleasures that brought her great joy. Whether it was gathering with her best friends for bingo or savoring coffee mornings, Milica’s infectious laughter and warm hugs left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Her sense of humor, kind heart, and protective nature made her not only a beloved mother and sister but a true friend to many. Milica leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through her daughters Nada and Boja; sons Nikola and Petar; sons-in-law Victor and Tony; daughter-in-law Elaina; and her dear sister, Marija. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff and care team for their unwavering support and kindness during her times of need. A special thank you is extended to the wonderful staff at Mecca Bingo for their enduring friendship and care for Mrs. P. As we celebrate the life of Milica Petkovic, we remember her for her unwavering spirit, her selfless love, and the joy she brought into our lives. She was truly one of a kind, and to know her was to love her. Her memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Milica’s memory to the Serbian Orthodox community or a charity of your choice. May her soul rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave.
