In Loving Memory

Mila Janee Phelps
June 13, 2022 — May 15, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Mila Janee Phelps, who left this world far too soon on May 15, 2026. Born on June 13, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona, Mila was a radiant beam of light who brought immeasurable joy to all who knew her. Her peaceful departure, cradled in the loving arms of her father and surrounded by family at Riley Children’s Hospital, marks the end of a beautiful chapter that, though brief, was filled with boundless love and happiness.
Mila was the cherished daughter of Johnathan Andrew and Hiedi Ann Phelps, who lovingly nurtured her adventurous spirit and gentle soul. She was a beloved sister to her older brother, Rylan, and baby sister, Camilla, who will carry forward her legacy of joy and laughter. Mila is also survived by her devoted grandparents, Brandy Hoenig (Mark Dingus) and Jennifer (Allen) Dalton, whose homes were filled with delightful memories of sleepovers and playful afternoons. Her great aunt and uncle, Shanta (Tamboura) Winters, along with numerous other relatives, held her close in their hearts and showered her with unconditional love.
In her four precious years, Mila taught us all about the essence of pure happiness and unconditional love. Her vibrant spirit was evident in her love for the outdoors, where she could often be found climbing trees and playing with her baby dolls. Tea time with her daddy was a treasured daily ritual that brought smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts. Mila's infectious laughter, dazzling smile, and boundless imagination left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though her time on this earth was far too short, Mila's legacy of love and joy will endure forever. Her playful dances in the living room, the bubbles she chased with delight, and the stories she adored will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence. Mila's bright, gentle light will forever illuminate the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us to cherish each moment and love without bounds.
Mila is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Robert and Diane Hoenig, her beloved sister, Olivia "Livi" Marie Phelps, and her great aunt, Ruth Schell. We find solace in knowing that she is now reunited with them, embraced by their love.
A private visitation and burial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support and love from all who wish to honor Mila's memory. They kindly request privacy as they say their final goodbyes and ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Though Mila's physical presence will be missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her life, though brief, was a testament to the power of love and joy, and her memory will be cherished always. Rest peacefully, dear Mila, in the arms of angels.
