Michael E. Duronslet

In loving memory of Michael Duronslet, who passed away on August 2, 2026, in New Orleans, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on October 13, 1946, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Mike was a beacon of kindness, intelligence, and love to all who had the fortune of knowing him. Mike was the cherished son of the late Aldon and Vivian Moore Duronslet. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Gaston Duronslet, Sr., and his memory will forever be treasured by those who survive him. He leaves behind his devoted brothers, Marcel of Richmond, TX, and Lucien of Milwaukee, OR; his loving sisters, Eileen Odhner of Ft. Knox, KY, Victoria Conrad of Baton Rouge, LA, Juliana Saputo and Annette Broussard, both of New Orleans, LA; and his faithful sister-in-law Evangeline Duronslet of Gonzales, LA. His life was further enriched by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who will continue to honor his legacy. Mike's journey of education began in the Catholic school system, where he graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1964. His quest for knowledge led him to earn a B.S. in Mathematics in 1966 and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1980 from Louisiana State University of New Orleans. These accomplishments laid the foundation for a successful career as an electrical engineer, a field in which he demonstrated remarkable skill and integrity. A man of deep faith and compassion, Mike's life was a testament to the values he held dear. He was a guiding light within his community, offering support and friendship to all who crossed his path. Mike's gentle spirit and wise counsel will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of calling him a friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 22, 2026, at 9:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, located at 7300 Crowder Blvd, New Orleans, LA. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a life well-lived and to share in the comfort of one another's presence as they bid farewell to a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Mike's legacy of giving and kindness. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caring teams at St. Margaret's at Mercy, Living in Love, and D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home for their extraordinary care, guidance, and support during this difficult time. Mike's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
