It is with deep sadness and profound respect that we announce the passing of Mike Mateo Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed from this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on May 27, 1965, in the vibrant town of Naranjito, Puerto Rico, Mike was the cherished son of Harriette Carrington and Adolfo Miller. His life was one of warmth, laughter, and boundless generosity. Mike's journey was one marked by hard work and dedication. He spent 26 admirable years at Metrolina Greenhouses, where his commitment to excellence and ability to nurture growth was reflected not only in the plants he tended but in the relationships he built. After transitioning careers, Mike embraced the open road as a truck driver for an additional six years, continuing to provide for his family with the same steadfastness and dependability that defined his character. A man of many talents and interests, Mike had an innate ability to engage in conversation with anyone, making friends wherever his travels took him. His quick wit and infectious smile were his trademarks, and his jovial nature could light up even the dimmest of rooms. He was a master storyteller, always ready with a joke to brighten the day, and his laughter was an invitation for others to join in the joy he so effortlessly shared. Beyond his conversational prowess, Mike had a passion for creating with his hands. Whether he was building something new or fixing what was broken, he found fulfillment in the tangible results of his labor. This hobby was a testament to his ability to see potential in everything and everyone around him. Mike's kindness and generosity were unparalleled. He had a unique gift of making everyone feel welcome and valued, an attribute that endeared him to all who crossed his path. His spirit of giving was abundant, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer a supportive word. Mike shared a beautiful life with his devoted partner, Keisha Miller, whose love and companionship were his greatest treasures. Together, they created a family filled with love and laughter, a legacy that continues through their children and seven adored grandchildren. Mike's family was his pride and joy, and his unwavering commitment to them was evident in every facet of his life. As we remember Mike, we hold dear the memories of his life—a life well-lived and filled with love, laughter, and compassion. His spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire all of us to live with kindness and to appreciate the simple joys that life offers. A celebration of Mike's life will be held to honor the remarkable man he was, and to share stories of the impact he made on our lives.
