September 24, 1961 — April 4, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Mike Fought, affectionately known as "Big Mike," who left this world on April 4, 2026. Born on September 24, 1961, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Mike lived a life full of adventure, warmth, and unyielding kindness. He was the beloved son of Marion "Judy" Kirkpatrick, who survives him. Mike grew up in a family that cherished strong bonds and shared experiences. He is survived by his loving mother, Judy Kirkpatrick, and his cherished siblings: brothers Mark Fought and Barry Wilmoth, and sisters Awnie Fought and Shell Fought. Though predeceased by no family members, Mike's spirit remains a guiding light for those left behind. He also leaves behind a dear friend, Coral Trainer, and her children Trevor, Austin, Desirae, and Desi's new baby Ka'Nia, who all considered Mike a part of their family. Mike's educational journey began at Great Falls High School and continued at Palomar College in California, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for learning. His sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve honorably in the Navy, a testament to his dedication and courage. Professionally, Mike was a skilled roofing contractor, known for his hard work and integrity. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were unparalleled, and he took great pride in every project he undertook. Outside of his career, Mike was a man of many interests. He had an enduring love for the mountains, where he found solace and peace amidst nature's grandeur. An avid hunter, he cherished the quiet moments spent in the wild. Mike was also a decent fisherman, a hobby he enjoyed despite acknowledging his brother Mark's superior skills in this area. Those who knew Mike best remember him as a gentle giant, a man whose easy-going nature endeared him to all. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, making them feel valued and heard. His warm smile and hearty laughter could light up any room, and his unwavering kindness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Though Mike did not have children of his own, he was a beloved uncle, friend, and mentor to many. His legacy of love and generosity will continue through the lives he touched and the memories he created with those he held dear. In keeping with his family's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Mike's life. While the gathering will be intimate, the love and admiration for Mike extend far beyond the confines of any room, reaching the countless hearts he touched throughout his life. As we bid farewell to Mike Fought, let us celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he leaves behind. In the spirit of his gentle heart, may we continue to share kindness, embrace adventure, and cherish the beauty in every moment, just as Big Mike did. Rest in peace, dear Mike. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
