Michelle Y Brantley
October 26, 1955 — August 15, 2026
The world became a little dimmer on August 15, 2026, with the peaceful passing of Michelle Y. Brantley at her home in the loving company of her family, friends, and cherished loved ones. Born on October 26, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida, Michelle was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew her.
Michelle was the beloved daughter of the late James S. Brantley Sr. and Loretta McGee Heidelburgh Brantley. She is predeceased by her parents and her dear brothers, Jabari and James Brantley. Her legacy of love and kindness is carried on by her devoted son, Charles Brantley, and daughter, Whitney Brantley. Her grandson, DeQuan Brantley, along with her two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Michelle was a guiding light for her sisters, Jacqueline and LaNita R. Brantley, and her brothers, David (Johnotre) and Paul (Karen) Brantley. Her best friend, Paullette Russell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, will miss her immeasurable spirit and warmth.
Educated through the Duval County Public School system, Michelle was a proud member of Mt. Vernon A.M.E Church and attended North Park Church of Christ. Her life was a testament to the power of love and community. She found joy in simple pleasures—playing the lottery, exploring the vast world of the internet, dancing to her favorite music, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Michelle’s life will be celebrated at a service on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the QL Douglas Funeral Home, located at 2403 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring a life well-lived.
In memory of Michelle, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, a cause that was close to her heart.
