It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michele Delaine Shugart, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world on July 18, 2026. Michele was born on February 22, 1980, in the warm and welcoming community of York County, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of Albert Newton Shugart Jr, who preceded her in death, and Connie Blackwell Shugart, who remains to cherish her memory. Michele graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, with a bachelor's degree, a testament to her dedication and love for learning. Her career as the lead designer of bath accessories at JLA spanned an impressive 17 years. Her work, marked by creativity and innovation, took her to various corners of the world, through which she touched the lives of many. A woman of deep faith, Michele was grounded in her Baptist upbringing, which served as a guiding light throughout her life. She had a zest for life, evident in her love of travel and her fondness for animals. Michele was an avid golfer, finding peace and joy on the greens, and yet, it was her family that she loved most dearly. Michele is survived by her devoted mother, Connie Blackwell Shugart, and her siblings, Mickey (John) Clements, Marilyn (David) Steele, Myra Rinehart, Cindy Guy, and Michael Shugart. She was predeceased by her father, Albert Newton Shugart Jr, and her brother, Malcom Dean Shugart. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. A memorial service to celebrate Michele's life will be held on August 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Richburg, located at 165 N Main St, Richburg, SC 29729. The family will receive visitors before the service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Richburg First Baptist Church, an organization close to Michele's heart. Contributions in her memory will continue her legacy of faith and community support. Michele Delaine Shugart's life was a testament to love, family, and faith. Her bright spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul find eternal peace.
