In Loving Memory

Michel Vandestienne
April 3, 1931 — August 13, 2026
“Michel” Moise Charlemagne Vandestienne, born on April 3, 1931, in the city of Lille, France, departed this world on August 13, 2026, with his beloved wife, Stella, tenderly by his side. Michel's journey through life was marked by his unwavering zest for adventure and an innate appreciation for the simple beauties of the world around him.
Born to Moise Charlemagne Vandestienne and Marie Therese Van de Velde, Michel embodied a unique blend of humor and compassion that endeared him to all who crossed his path. His life was a testament to embracing every moment with joy and laughter, touching the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Michel shared a life filled with love and laughter with his devoted wife, Stella. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Vandestienne and her husband Damian Eckstein, and Jennifer Vandestienne and her husband Scott Gillow. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
An enthusiastic gardener, Michel found solace and satisfaction in tending to his flowers, nurturing them with the same dedication and care he showed to his loved ones. His love for cycling and carpentry spoke to his adventurous spirit and skilled hands, always creating and exploring new horizons. Michel was equally drawn to the water, where he found peace and contentment, whether by the sea, a lake, or a simple stream.
Michel's legacy is one of laughter, care, and an unyielding passion for life. His family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Frank and Bernadette Squeri, Najela “Mary” and those who supported Michel and offered kindness and compassionate care during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Michel's memory. His spirit will forever remain a beacon of joy and love, inspiring those who knew him to live life to its fullest, just as he did.
