It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Micheal Vertis Dill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who left this world on May 17, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on March 2, 1981, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Micheal, who courageously battled leukemia, leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Micheal was the cherished son of Maxine and Vertis (fondly known as Pops) Dill. He is predeceased by his mother, Maxine Dill, who passed on October 13, 2021, and is survived by his devoted wife, Alma Dill, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Micheal was a loving father to his two beautiful daughters, Serena Velasquez and Olivia Dill, and a proud grandfather to his treasured grandson, Matteo Herrera-Velasquez. The love and warmth he shared with his family will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
His family legacy extends to his many siblings, including Manuel Sanchez, Lisa Sanchez, Bobby Dill, Jessica and Travis Brown, Misty and Dean Ruttenbur, Shanna Sicotte, Shane Dill, and Madelyn and Melanie Morris, each of whom, along with their children, were touched by Micheal's generous spirit and unwavering support.
Micheal shared a special chapter of his life with his ex-wife, Lily Dill, to whom the family extends heartfelt gratitude for the beautiful daughters and cherished memories they created together.
A patriot at heart, Micheal dedicated many years to serving his country with distinction. He began his military career in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1999 to 2005, achieving the rank of Senior Airman (E4). He later continued his service in the United States Navy as a Construction Mechanic (CM2) until 2011. Micheal's dedication to duty and love for his country was evident in every endeavor he undertook.
Beyond his service, Micheal was a man of diverse interests and boundless enthusiasm. His love for off-roading, riding Harleys, and tinkering with engines revealed his zest for life and adventure. He was a natural entertainer, delighting many as a DJ and the "karaoke host with the mostest," bringing laughter and joy to every gathering. A connoisseur of horror and comedy, Micheal's sense of humor and love for travel enriched his life and those around him.
Those who knew Micheal will remember him as a hardworking, loyal, and selfless individual. His quick wit, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends made him an amazing family man, brother, and friend. Micheal's legacy of love, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Micheal's life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Stodden Park, located at 3150 Utah Avenue, Butte, MT 59701. Family, friends, and all whose lives Micheal touched are invited to join in remembering and honoring this remarkable man.
