Micheal Charles Delamore
June 2, 1943 — March 13, 2026
Micheal Charles Delamore, affectionately known by many as "Mike," passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 13, 2026, in Waterloo, Iowa, after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on June 2, 1943, to Charles and Phyllis Delamore, Mike lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service.
Mike was a beacon of strength and humor, qualities that he carried throughout his life. He is predeceased by his loving parents and his beloved wife, Karen, but his legacy continues to shine brightly through his surviving family. He leaves behind his cherished sisters, Vickie, Val, Linda, and Char; his devoted sons, Sean and Michael; and his adored grandchildren, Stephen, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Madison, Shane, James, and Patrick. His legacy is further enriched by his seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy for eight years as a combat photographer, capturing moments of bravery and sacrifice. After his military service, Mike embarked on a fulfilling career with the postal service as a drafter technician, where he worked diligently for 28 years. His love for family prompted an early retirement to spend more time with his grandchildren, a decision that brought him immense joy and countless cherished memories. Not one to stay idle, Mike later joined Enterprise Car Rentals, where he worked for another 15 years, forming lasting friendships and sharing his infectious laughter.
A man of simple pleasures, Mike found joy in fishing, biking, and most especially, in the company of his grandchildren. His quick wit and ready humor endeared him to all who knew him, and he was always the first to lend a hand to those in need. Mike's generosity of spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on his community and family.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on what would have been his 83rd birthday, June 2, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Olinge Funeral Home, located at 6601 South Colorado Blvd. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and honor a remarkable man who touched so many lives with his warmth and humor.
Though he is no longer with us, Mike's spirit and love will forever be in our hearts. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mike's memory to a Parkinson’s research foundation of your choice.
