Michael Ward Robison

May 16, 1953 — June 6, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Michael Ward Robison, a cherished son, devoted husband, esteemed veteran, and beloved friend. Michael departed this world on June 6, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas, on May 16, 1953, to the late David F. Robison and Patricia I. Robison, who instilled in him values of integrity, dedication, and compassion that would guide him throughout his life's journey. Michael's early years were spent in the sunlit neighborhoods of Dallas before moving with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1971. His thirst for knowledge and unyielding commitment to service led him to the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1975. Driven by a desire to serve his country with distinction, Michael furthered his education with a Master's degree in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College in 1984, and later, a Master's in Program Management. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Michael embarked on a storied career with the United States Navy, serving from 1975 until his retirement in 1997. Rising to the esteemed rank of Commander (O-5), he served on four ships and held various shore commands, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his unwavering leadership, strategic acumen, and steadfast dedication to duty. His legacy in the Navy is marked by a profound commitment to protecting and serving his nation. In 1981, Michael married the love of his life, Pamela Brewer Robison, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to love and partnership, characterized by mutual respect, shared experiences, and unwavering support for one another. The couple made their home in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where Michael continued to serve as a pillar of the community, most notably as Commander of the Pigeon Forge Military Veterans Honor Guard. His work with the Honor Guard allowed him to continue his service to his fellow veterans, a cause that remained close to his heart. Outside of his professional life, Michael was an avid amateur radio operator, known by the call sign KC2QIL. His passion for radio was a reflection of his broader love for communication and connection, which extended to friends and neighbors alike. Those who knew Michael remember him for his warm smile, his generous spirit, and his ability to bring people together. Michael was predeceased by his beloved Pamela in August 2019, a loss that deeply saddened him yet inspired him to honor her memory through acts of kindness and community service. He is survived by a host of friends and fellow veterans who will forever cherish his memory. As we reflect on Michael's life, we celebrate a man who lived with purpose, courage, and kindness. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Michael has left an indelible mark on the world, and though he has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit will remain with us always. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Michael's name to the Pigeon Forge Military Veterans Honor Guard, an organization that was dear to his heart. A memorial service to honor Michael's life and legacy will be held at a later date, allowing friends and family to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived. As we bid farewell to Michael, we do so with gratitude for a life that touched so many and a legacy that will inspire future generations.
