Michael W. Scipio

December 3, 1953 — August 20, 2026

Michael W. Scipio was born on December 3, 1953, on Long Island, New York, to Mary E. Scipio and Warren T. Scipio. He attended schools in both the Wyandanch and North Babylon school districts, graduating in 1972. Michael continued his education at Hampton University before completing his studies at Pratt Institute, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Michael’s education became the foundation for a life spent creating, building, and transforming. He joined the Carpenters Union, where he honed his craft and developed the skills that would eventually allow him to branch out on his own. Through his business renovating homes, Michael’s work became about more than construction. He took pride in creating spaces where first-time homebuyers could purchase a house that truly felt like home. While Michael was building his career, he was also building a family. In 1991, he married Michelle Williams, and in 1992, he stepped into one of the most important roles of his life when he became a father to his only daughter, Rosey. His family grew again in 2014 when he proudly became a grandfather, and in 2021, he welcomed a son, Kenneth Parker, through marriage into the family. Michael was never a man defined by work alone. He had an adventurous spirit, a love for life, and an appreciation for the freedom of the open road—and eventually, the open water. Throughout his life, that meant Kawasaki motorcycles, Corvettes, and boats. True to Michael’s nature, simply enjoying something was rarely enough. When something captured his interest, he pursued it. That same drive followed Michael onto the water. In 2019, he pursued and earned his Captain’s License, turning another passion into an accomplishment. It was one more example of the determination, independence, and curiosity that characterized the way Michael lived his life. Michael was a builder in every sense of the word. He built homes. He built a business. He built a family. And throughout his life, he continued building experiences, pursuing new interests, and finding new adventures. Whether his hands were at work on a home, on the wheel of a Corvette, on a motorcycle, or guiding a boat across the water, Michael lived with a desire to keep moving, keep learning, and keep doing. The things Michael built with his hands will remain, but the life he built with and for his family will be his greatest legacy. His presence, his accomplishments, his adventures, and the memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Roseanne Scipio-Parker; his son, Kenneth Parker; his two granddaughters, Alianna Parker and Alyssa Parker; and his lifelong love and friend, Michelle Scipio, along with the many friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence. And through it all, Michael did it his way.

A Poem

Success by Bessie Anderson Stanley He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; Who has left the world better than he found it whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul; Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it; Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; Whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction. ______________________________
