Michael Vincent Barrett, born on October 17, 1965, in the vibrant city of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed peacefully on September 15, 2026. Michael, affectionately known as Mike, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose warmth and humor touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Mike was the cherished son of the late Ernest Clark Barrett Sr. and Naomi Doretta Easter-Barrett, and the devoted brother of the late Ernest C. Barrett Jr. He is survived by his older brother Reuben A. Easter Sr., as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, all of whom will forever treasure his memory.
With a determination to succeed, Mike earned his GED through Job Corp, a testament to his resilience and dedication. His career took him through various roles, including his time with Downtown STL, until he became disabled. Despite the challenges he faced, Mike remained a beacon of light and strength for those around him.
Mike's life was filled with simple joys that brought him great happiness. He loved playing spades and treasured the moments spent at family gatherings. His quick wit and blunt honesty were hallmarks of his personality, always bringing laughter and truth to any conversation. The bond he shared with his brother Ernie was unbreakable, a testament to the deep love and connection they fostered throughout their lives.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Fellowship Temple Christian Church, located at 3108 Airway Avenue, Breckenridge, MO 63114. The service will include processional, prayer, hymns, scripture readings, and words of remembrance. It will be a time to honor and reflect upon a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Michael's memory. Additionally, they extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers who lovingly cared for Mike, as well as their cousins Spencer and Jadah, whose support has been invaluable.
