Michael Soloke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 79, enveloped by the love and warmth of his cherished family. Born on November 21, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, Michael was a beacon of love and laughter, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. Michael was the devoted husband of Sally, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he took immense pride in his daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Jeff Wolfe. Michael was the proud grandfather to Alexander and Nathaniel, who brought immense joy and light to his life. A proud graduate of Riley High School in South Bend, Indiana, Michael's early life was marked by a commitment to swimming by setting many records and becoming an Olympic qualifier. He served his country with honor in the Army, an experience that helped shape his character and values. Following his military service, Michael embarked on a successful career in mortgage banking and appraisal. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and own two appraisal businesses, where he demonstrated his keen business acumen and unyielding work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time with his family, exploring the great outdoors through RV camping, and losing himself in the magic of movies. Michael had an extraordinary ability to read people and situations, offering sage advice and a listening ear to those in need. Michael's legacy is one of kindness, humor, and wisdom. His sharp reactions and insightful nature made him a confidant and advisor to many. He had an ability to listen deeply and connect with others, leaving a mark on everyone he encountered. As we celebrate Michael's life, we remember a man who lived with purpose, whose love for his family and zest for life were evident in everything he did.
