With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Slowey, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on August 11, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on October 8, 1943, Michael lived a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.
Michael's journey was marked by his deep love for his family and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Norma Jo Slowey, whose partnership and love he treasured throughout their life together. He was the proud father of four daughters: Georgiann Chambers (Ted), Melinda Frank (Steve), Beth Ann Slowey, and Stacy Aylsworth. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and 6.5 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Michael's bond with his siblings was a testament to his loving nature. He is survived by his sisters Shirley Matchett, Janet Roberts, Virginia Smith, and Donna Keylor, as well as his brothers Glenn Slowey and Joseph Slowey. Each relationship he cherished, crafting a tapestry of love and support that spanned the years.
A man of varied interests, Michael enjoyed spending time with his dear friend Phyllis Minten of Tracy, CA. His hobbies and interests brought him joy and fulfillment, enriching his days and creating lasting memories with those fortunate enough to share in them.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with love and support. In lieu of flowers, they invite donations to be made in Michael’s memory to a charity of your choice, honoring his spirit of generosity and compassion.
