Michael S. Stafford, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in West Bend, WI, on July 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Michael was born on November 13, 1965, in West Bend, a place he cherished and called home throughout his life.
Michael was the cherished son of Barbara Smith (nee Brietenbach) and the late Jerry Stafford. He is lovingly remembered by his step-father, Charles Smith, and his devoted sisters, Peggie Stafford and Lisa Stafford. Michael was a doting uncle to Brianna Stafford, Elizabeth Boykin, and Halo Young, and a great-uncle to Trhu Boykin-Meyers and Zeva Boykin-Meyers. He also leaves behind his special friend, Jolie Seering, whose companionship and support were deeply treasured.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lloyd and Marge Lynn, his father, Jerry Stafford, and his sister, Terrey Goodwin (nee Stafford). Their memories remained close to his heart, and he often spoke of the love and lessons they imparted upon him.
In his youth, Michael briefly served in the United States Coast Guard, from 1983 to 1984, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie. These values stayed with him throughout his life and career.
For nearly four decades, Michael owned and operated Flowbees Septic Inc., a family business he poured his heart into and led with unwavering dedication and integrity. His commitment to his work and his employees was evident in every aspect of his business, earning him respect and admiration from all who knew him.
Michael was a man of principle, known for his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He was always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile, touching the lives of many in his community. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, and his love for nature was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
