Michael R. McNally "Micky"
July 12, 1929 — June 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Mike McNally, affectionately known as "Micky," who departed this world on June 3, 2026. Born on July 12, 1929, in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California, Micky lived a life that spanned nearly a century and touched countless souls along the way.
Micky's journey began in San Francisco, but his adventures took him to Sacramento, St. Louis, and Chicago, each place adding a new chapter to his remarkable story. He was a devoted husband to his beloved Linda, with whom he shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
As a father, Micky was blessed with four daughters: Taffy, Kimberly, Niki, and Wendi, who will forever carry forward his legacy of kindness and compassion. His family grew to include six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love and strength of his family bonds.
A man of many talents, Micky's early years saw him playing football at McClatchey High School, and he later attended Sacramento City College. His career was as diverse as his interests, having worked as a print and TV model, a theater actor, and an advertising executive. Alongside Linda, he co-owned "Cheap Thrills" in Sacramento, a venture that was as vibrant as their partnership.
Micky was a man of remarkable resilience, having celebrated over 50 years of sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a beacon of hope and a mentor to many on their journey to sobriety. His humanitarian spirit, alongside Linda, was recognized when they were both honored as Humanitarians of the Year by the Sacramento SPCA.
His love for speed and adventure was evident as a founding member of the Sacramento Water Ski Club and an avid SCCA race car driver. Micky's passion for vintage sports cars was matched only by his enduring affection for his dogs, who were constant companions throughout his life.
Micky's vibrant spirit will be celebrated at a service on August 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the California Auto Museum, located at 2200 Front St., Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Micky's legacy of giving.
To his family, Micky was a guiding light, always reminding them to take life "One Day At A Time." His wisdom, love, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we bid farewell to Micky, we hold onto the memories of a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and an unyielding zest for life. Rest in peace, dear Micky. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
