Michael R. DiGirolamo
July 18, 1958 — September 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael R. DiGirolamo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend, who left this world on September 5, 2026. Born on July 18, 1958, in Yonkers, NY, Michael was the cherished son of Rocco and Fay DiGirolamo & Son-in-law of Louis and MaryAnn Mongiello. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
Michael was the devoted husband of Marianne DiGirolamo, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich in love, raising two exceptional sons, Michael and Brandon, alongside their loving daughters-in-law, Melissa and Angelica. Michael's greatest joy came from his family, and he took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Olivia and Lia, his two precious granddaughters.
A man of integrity and warmth, Michael spent his career as a commodities broker on the New York Mercantile Exchange. His work was marked by dedication and skill, but it was his character that truly set him apart. Michael possessed an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. He had a gift for lightening any mood with a well-timed joke, movie quotes and his kindness and generosity endeared him to all who crossed his path.
Outside of work, Michael's passion was his family. He was a supporter of his sons, often found coaching and watching their sports teams. These moments, filled with laughter and camaraderie, were the treasures of his life.
Michael is survived by his loving siblings, Richard DiGirolamo and Lori Dubbioso, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
A service in remembrance of Michael will be held on September 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the John Vincent Scalia Funeral Home, located at 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10312. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Michael are invited to celebrate his life and commemorate the many joyful memories he leaves behind.
