Michael "Mitch" Balderas, a cherished husband, devoted brother, and beloved friend, peacefully departed this world on April 20, 2026, at the age of 68. Born in Illinois on June 17, 1957, Mitch lived a life rich with love, service, and dedication to others. Mitch was the son of Alice and Ray Balderas. He was predeceased by his father Ray, his brother Ricky Ramos, and his biological parents A and B. He was a loving husband to Diana Buechele, whom he met while they both worked at John Muir Hospital. They married on September 2, 2018, and since their meeting in 2012, they have shared countless memories, laughter, and love. Mitch's life was a testament to service and compassion. After graduating from Los Banos High School, he served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1981. His commitment to protecting others continued through his career as a Federal Fireman for over two decades. Even after retiring, Mitch found ways to serve his community by working in security, always ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him. A man of many passions, Mitch was an avid Raiders fan and a lover of music and history. His fondness for military history was well-known, and he delighted in reading and watching programs that explored the past. His love for animals was equally profound, often bringing home strays in need of care. His family fondly remembers the time he rescued a turtle from the side of the freeway, a testament to his gentle and caring nature. Mitch's vibrant spirit made him a social butterfly; he loved engaging with people from all walks of life and was known for his generosity and kindness. He possessed an innate ability to connect with others, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana, and his siblings: Rey Balderas (Norma), Christina Moore (Ron), Fred Ramos (Francis), Cynthia Barron, Lydia C., Steve Ramos, Micky Ramos, and Norman Ramos. Mitch also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him deeply. A service to honor Mitch's life will be held on June 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the DeYoung Memorial, located at 601 N. California St, Stockton, CA.
